Rules and Info

Go to DiamondDuels.app and register or log into your account…registration and playing Diamond Duels is free, and there is nothing to download…no need for an App or Play store.

Tap on the MLB game and then choose your Duel…you will get 500 points to start the duel. Approximately twenty minutes before the start of your Duel, you will be able to make your predictions on the first batter of the game.

Predictions:

Playing Diamond Duels is easy…look at the pitcher/batter matchup, and make your predictions! You can make one, or several, predictions for each at-bat.

All predictions have a multiplier or odds, based on probability, which you will see on the bottom of the button. For example, for Ground Out to SS, you will see “x15”. If you make a 10-point prediction on Ground Out to SS and that is the result of the play, you win 150 points…it’s that simple!

You can make one prediction, many, or none…the only limit is time and your points remaining. And yes, you can predict a strikeout, a hit, and a flyout for the same batter! It’s all up to you and your strategy.

Predictions for the on-deck batter ends when a result is recorded for the current batter and the on-deck batter nears the batter’s box (this is done to account for the lag in different TV and streaming systems so no one has an unfair advantage, so it’s best to make your predictions quickly!

Scoring for Outs:

The scoring for outs in Diamond Duels can be slightly different than the scoring in a baseball game.

The outcome for an out play in DD is based on the player to throw or catch the ball to record the first out of a play, excluding steals/pickoffs. (For DD scoring, a fly ball/popup, line drive, and foul out are all considered identical.)

Examples:

Most at-bat results are self-explanatory; Fly-Out to RF, Ground Out to 2B, Strikeout, etc.

Fielder’s Choice: Scored as a Ground Out to the player that fields the grounder – it makes no difference what base he throws it to in order to record the out.

Double Play: The player that throws or catches the ball to record the first out is used for DD scoring. Example: Grounder to SS, he throws to 2B for an out, who throws to 1B for the second out; scored as Ground Out SS (second out is ignored).

Deflections: The player that throws or catches the ball to record the first out is used for DD scoring (deflecting player is ignored). Example: Line drive back to the Pitcher, who deflects the ball to 2B who catches it on the fly; scored as Fly Out 2B. If the ball hit the ground before being caught, and 2B throws it to 1B for the out; it’s scored as Ground Out 2B.

Batting Outcomes with All Predictions Voided

  • Error
  • IBB – Intentional Walk (Intentional Base on Balls)
  • If the pitcher is changed when a batter already has a count, then the at-bat is voided.

A Note on Voided Predictions:

When a batter reaches base on an error or is intentionally walked, all predictions will be voided. On voided predictions, the Dueler will not win or lose their prediction…they will just get their original points credited back to their score.

End of each Half-Inning

If there are pending predictions for any batter when the third out of a half-inning is recorded, all those predictions are voided, and prediction points are credited back to the Duelers.
